Food is a basic need for humans to be able to carry out activities in life. Food is anything that comes from biological sources that has been processed or not processed into food, beverage or as a food additive, or something else. Years by now, the population of Indonesia continues to increase along with the amount of agricultural land decreasing due to the increasing need for housing. Every year agricultural land in Indonesia shrinks by 150,000 to 20,000 hectares and this threatens food security in Indonesia. In utilizing village funds, 20% of village funds can be used as food security funds. So that the use of village funds is more effective and targeted, it is better to manage them by Village-Owned Entrepreneurship which operates in the agricultural sector and other businesses that support food security. However, there are still several things that need to be addressed by Village-Owned Entrepreneurship so that it can manage food security funds well. The recommendation from this policy brief is to combine village development planning with Village-Owned Entrepreneurship business planning, the function of Village-Owned Entrepreneurship should be broader, and increase the capacity and quality of Village-Owned Entrepreneurship.
