Indonesia faces the challenge of inclusive development and population distribution, which is addressed through the transmigration program. This program relocates people from densely populated areas to less populated ones. Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 50 of 2018 established the Coordination and Integration Team for Transmigration Implementation at various levels of government to coordinate and integrate the transmigration program. However, funding allocation for the transmigration program has significantly decreased in recent years, hindering the program’s implementation. Collected data indicates that this regulation has a significant impact on the development of transmigration areas, although challenges such as lack of coordination, funding, and socialization still persist. For example, the Rasau Jaya Transmigration Area shows that even though the Coordination and Integration Team’s decree has not been issued, coordination and integration continue effectively due to the commitment and synergy within the government. Recommendations include strengthening regulations, increasing capacity, boosting the financial allocation, and expediting the release of the Coordination and Integration Team’s decree to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of transmigration area development. With improved coordination and integration within the government, the implementation of Perpres No. 50 of 2018 can be more effective, thereby supporting the sustainable development of transmigration areas.
