Abstract

Indonesia is a country located in disaster risk areas including transmigration areas which also located in disaster-prone areas. Currently, several transmigration areas are threatened by potential disasters. In retrospect, the transmigration area is not completely safe for transmigrants due to limited facilities and infrastructure. For this reason, based on the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 21 of 2008 concerning the Implementation of Disaster Management, it aims to ensure community protection and minimize the threats, risks, and impacts of disasters. Disaster management and mitigation studies, especially for transmigration areas, have the main urgency to immediately compile and analyze policies related to disaster mitigation in increasing awareness of disaster threats.
