Village Fund Intervention to Overcome Stunting in the Village

Abstract

According to Presidential Regulation Number 72 of 2021 concerning Accelerating the Reduction of Stunting. Stunting is a disorder of growth and development of children due to chronic malnutrition and recurrent infections, which is characterized by their length or height being below the standard set by the Minister of Health. Through the Strategic Priority Projects listed in the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), it is targeted that in 2024 the prevalence of stunting will be reduced by 14%. Broadly speaking, there are two types of interventions in tackling stunting in villages, which are Specific Interventions and Sensitive Interventions. Specific Interventions are activities carried out to address the direct causes of stunting. Policy recommendations that can be carried out by the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration is to add several activities that support sensitive interventions and specific interventions. The Ministry of PDTT along with the Ministry of Finance also needs to determine the percentage of Village Funds that can be allocated to reduce stunting in villages. In addition, the Ministry of Village PDTT is require to make a Ministerial Decree on Guidelines for Reducing Stunting in Villages which includes socialization, prevention and prevention of stunting so that they become village guidelines for disbursing Village Funds. Village Funds can also be used to intervene in productive yard activities in the village. This aims to increase the ease of access to food for families who are prone to stunting.
